Signs Your Ex Wants You Back

One of the worst parts of going through a break up is the uncertain mindset that you're left with. You want your ex back so obviously you're left wondering whether or not they want you in return.

This naturally leads you to look for signs that they still want you. The first thing I shall say is to proceed with caution when you're looking for these signs.

While your ex can show signs that they still want you or even drop hints about it, you can often see signs that aren't really there due to wishful thinking.

Here are a few typical signs that your ex may still be interested in you:

• It's normally considered a good thing if your ex is calling you for reasons that aren't very important such as wanting a chat or catch up.

• Building on the last point, if they're ringing to ask you for advice on something or to tell you about something that happened to them it can be another good sign.

• If your ex tries to prolong your conversations without adding any real value to the conversation. This is an indicator that they want to speak with you and don't want it to end.

• If they keep appearing at your favourite bars or clubs. Of course this can happen by coincidence but if it's happening regularly they could well be doing their best to bump into you.

• They're dropping hints that they aren't seeking a new partner. Often this will come with an excuse such as "I'm done with relationships now."

• If they try and get as close as possible when you're chatting. This is especially the case if you're in the same bar and they sit right next to you.

• They're trying to impress you by telling you about personal achievements such as an upcoming promotion at work (side note - this can often be mistaken because they can be trying to make you jealous.)

• They've changed something about themselves or their appearance that they knew you didn't like and have made sure that you know about it.

The more of these points that you can see in your ex the more chance there is that they would like to get back with you. You should also analyze your ex's attitude when you're looking for these signs.

Be honest with yourself and ask this simple question, are they acting like someone that wants you back? You need to ask yourself this because while they may meet some of these points, it may all be a coincidence.

There are more complex signs they may want you back such as getting involved in a rebound relationship. This however can also be confusing because it's tricky to work out whether or not they're doing it to make you jealous or because they've simply moved on.

It would depend on what kind of personality your ex is. If they're a flirt and can easily "Score" or "Pull" new partners there's a good chance it is a rebound relationship.

If however your ex is a shy person there's less chance they would start a new relationship to make you jealous. Ultimately all relationships are different and what may be a sign for one relationship may not be a sign for another.
